Mount Bokty, Mangystau Desert, Kazakhstan Sept. 2025.
A 165 meters high, beautiful, isolated and stratified rock formation, far from any kind of living being.
Photo taken at dawn, in this splendid rocky desert, after a night spent in tent.
The picture shows the rays of the rising sun, that only light up the colors of the summit, while the foreground is still in the shadows.
Notable are the sedimentations from the ancient Tethys ocean, that created multicolored layers, highlighted by the vivid red of iron.
