Monika’s ongoing project, Amber Coast, is inspired by the landscapes of the Curonian Spit and woman who shaped her. The series explores themes of memory, womanhood, and personal transformation capturing the emotional complexity of her subjects through poetic and minimalist compositions.
Her photography reflects her fascination with the strength, vulnerability, and mystery of women. Through a monochromatic lens, she portrays them as ever-changing, much like Curonian Spit, where wind, sand, and sea are shaping a place of rare beauty.
The special edition, black and white prints, Monika covers with raw pine tree resin (not fossilized amber), connecting her work to the present moment while honoring the ancient spirit of the Baltic region.
