One of those times when the best camera is the one you have available, and this was my mobile phone. After watching this young surfer descend the stairs to Bells Beach, I looked down and saw their solitary form creating a line between sand and surf, footprints following them, whilst absorbed in their thoughts about the competition they would take part in the next day. There was nothing for it but to capture this moment in time - just a surfer and their beach.
