Since 2017, this long-term documentary project has followed the effects of Xylella fastidiosa in southern Italy, one of the most severe phytosanitary crises of our time. What was first perceived as a local outbreak has become a global threat, affecting agricultural ecosystems far beyond its origin.
In Puglia, the disease has erased millions of olive trees, many centuries old, reshaping the landscape and weakening the cultural and economic foundations of entire communities. Still ongoing, the project observes the aftermath of the crisis and reflects on environmental vulnerability and the global consequences of delayed responses to biological threats.
