The shores of Loch Sunart retain some of the last remnants of Atlantic oak wood, that would have once covered much of the West coast of Scotland. Sessile Oak are the dominant tree species and form a dense canopy. Shortly after dawn, the sun burst through the foliage to illuminate the moss covered ground beneath. I was fortunate that there was very little breeze on this occasion, enabling me to take a series of bracketed images to capture the full dynamic range throughout the highlights and shadows.
