The auditorium designed by architect Santiago Calatrava had been on my wish list for a long time. In October 2025, the time had finally come. I took long exposures from three locations. For the basic photos #1 and #2, I used the PC-Nikkor Tilt/Shift 24mm f4, and for #3, I used the 24-120mm f4 Z S, as I was standing further away.
Through my editing, I use the lighting to emphasise the three-dimensionality of the building, thus setting it apart from its surroundings. But I also emphasise the surroundings in a subtle way with my delicate lighting.
The long exposure turns bodies of water into calm surfaces, while clouds become tousled. When I feel it is important, I partially emphasise clouds with light to enhance the effect of the building.
